Partner Spotlight: INTERWEST ENERGY ALLIANCE

At the start of this year, we met with one of our partners, Interwest Energy Alliance (Interwest). If you’re not familiar with Interwest, they are a leading regional driver for the responsible expansion of renewable energy in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

Rikki Seguin, Interwest’s Executive Director, spoke with our team about how renewable energy expansion fared last year during the pandemic.

Schools are some of the biggest beneficiaries of local tax revenue. Adding renewable energy to local economies can help schools everywhere but especially those in the communities it is established in. Investing in our students is crucial to building a strong foundation of innovators in New Mexico, and we hope to see further diversification of our economy to help efforts like those made by the Albuquerque Charter Academy in ensuring their students and educators have all the tools they need to be successful.

We are honored to launch this series with an interview with our partner, the Santa Fe Green Chamber of Commerce (SFGCC). SFGCC has been a longtime force for social equity and environmental preservation, growing Santa Fe’s economic prosperity. This past year they have been focused on providing resources for small local businesses and working to implement a water conservation program for restaurants. SFGCC has worked to grow that list of participants for this program and faced difficulties because of concern over new and changing COVID-19 regulations.
